The same atmospheric air that we breathe & is drawn into a compressor contains water vapour that we know as humidity.  The hotter the air is, the greater it’s ability is to carry this moisture, this is why humid conditions are found in hot climates.

By compressing air we are firstly raising its temperature, allowing it to hold even more moisture, & secondly we are concentrating the volume of air & humidity under pressure (by on average 8 times).  The result is hot 100% saturated compressed air that ultimately cools further downstream in the compressed air system.

As this compressed air cools the humidity condenses into water.  This unwanted water is a unfortunate by-product of compressing air & can be highly detrimental to both production machinery, tools & moisture sensitive processes.

Conventional filters rely on fine water droplets being physically trapped by filter mediums, unfortunately gaseous water vapour held within the hot compressed air is still free to move through these filters condensing further downstream as the air cools.

Put simply, Refrigerated Dryers work by cooling the air to +3ºC which forces the moisture vapour to condense into water which can then be successfully removed by conventional filters & automatic drains.

Ceccato Logo imageThe Ceccato company has its headquarters and factory in Vicenza Italy & satellite production facilities through western Europe.  They have more than 65 years experience in compressed air technology & 35 years of manufacturing rotary screw compressors.

Today Ceccato is part of the Atlas Copco Group of Companies, distributing their products worldwide through more than 1000 distributors in more than 60 countries spanning the globe.

In Australia, Ceccato’s head office is in Melbourne, with their Australian operation utilizing national distributors such as National Air Compressors to sell & service their product Australia wide.

Today Ceccato’s rotary screw compressors utilise the ‘Airtec’ air end (one of the largest air end manufacturer’s in the world) & Ceccato itself is one of the largest screw compressor & refrigerated dryer manufacturers in Europe.

All products are designed and manufactured by Ceccato in accordance with ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 certification and all models conform to the rigorous ISO-1217, Ed.3, Annex C-1996 acceptance test code.
